Week 8 - Class
22 September 2017
Today I have been seeing Tristam after a couple of weeks getting feedback from Ant. I feel I needed to balance the opinions out to see what I personally want to get out of this.
I showed him my plans for the VR Space and my first attempt of building it in Maya. I also showed my wireframes for the website, which I started to redesign after redoing the Information Architecture (which happened after I got new cool ideas).
The website essentially is the first touchpoint and the access to the VR Memory Spaces. Thats also where you collect your digital assets and where you can build and edit the space like you would in a Living Simulator (oh hello there Sims...good thing you where there to inspire).
Tristam's feedback was really helpful and inspiring, because ...
1. I know I'm on the right track. I have the right focus on priorities on the project (VR- > Website aka Experience -> Design). The process is pretty much linear as it can be from now on.
2. I need to have a look into Tango by Google...and rewatch Bladerunner
3. What if you could upload a picture and the 3D Software within the website builds the 3D space for you. So you upload a photo of your childhood bedroom...and it builds the bedroom in VR for you. So you can 're-experience' your memories, or others can have a look into how you experienced your childhood.
4. I don't need to worry about if it is technically possible - it is a speculative project. And who said it is not going to be possible in 5 years time.
5. I still think thought the 'build from scratch' idea still is important. Some people love that process of personalising or recreating a space (There is a reason the Sims CEO made a ton of $$$).

Resonated with me because I'm literally on a job hunt right now |
